A business that is accounting for us.

After 15+ years of working in typical accounting industry roles, it was time to create a path more meaningful for me and more responsive to my communities. The idea for Accounting for Us was born - a company rooted in authenticity, integrity, and intersectionality. This wasn't just about starting an accounting firm; it was about challenging an industry that overlooks people like me.

My professional service experience started in 2008. As a person of color and openly gay, I was constantly part of a tiny minority. I persevered, navigating the terrain of the accounting and finance industry. My time on the inside was spent learning from every opportunity from a handful of exceptional mentors.

Now I bring my hard-earned talent and expertise to you. I understand your questions and your unique struggles. We are partners ready to build a future of mutual success because we are accounting for us.

Aaron Blaine, CPA (He/Him/His)

I grew up as a biracial child in a single parent household in Southern California. As a first-generation university student at UC Berkeley, I came out of the closet and began the emotional labor to be myself. I also wanted more from my education and I transferred to UC Santa Barbara. While working and attending school full-time, I completed my B.A. in Business Economics and Accounting.

With my degree in hand, I stepped into the professional world, joining a regional public accounting firm. My nights and weekends were filled with studying and I earned my CPA license. I eventually relocated to Boston where I continued my journey in public accounting, working at regional and national firms. I decided to specialize in Tax, so I completed the M.S. in Taxation program at Northeastern while meeting the demands of a full-time career.

In 2022 my husband and I put roots down in Denver and have hopes to grow our family.

Thank you for reading my journey and I'm eager to hear about your unique story soon.
